The BBQ Concepts team just finished up on an outdoor kitchen remodel project. First things first though, we just want to say that BBQ Concepts does not construct our outdoor kitchens using cinder blocks as it’s structural foundation. As a disclaimer, we want to assure any future clients that we only manufacture our custom outdoor kitchens using Galvanized 1” Square Stock Steel. We use PermaBase brand cement board for the structural façade. So, if you’re looking to build a brand new outdoor kitchen. Cinder block will not be used in any of our custom barbecue islands.

For this remodel, they already had an existing cinder block structure from a previous build. The barbecue island remodel process went as planned though. We were able to take the existing structure and give it a completely new and improved aesthetic look. The customer was happy and we were able to salvage the existing structural work. The alternative would have been to demolish and excavate the cinder block. This would have ultimately cost the client quite a bit more in the long run. Here at BBQ Concepts, we’re into saving our clients’ money wherever we can.

For the outdoor kitchen remodel, we used Normandy Granite for the counter-top and a beautiful 12×12 Travertine for the fascia. This material combination went together flawlessly. The color tones are perfect for the Nevada desert environment. We’ve included a photo gallery below for you to view.
